about

Path of Illumination

Names of creator/god used in chant of protection/invocation as we prepare for the journey through the veil. The welcoming melody helping calm us before the death. At 11/12minutes we begin dissolving into the formless held by the vibration of the voice and shruti box

In Akasha: Path of Illumination, Meagan is singing four of the ninety-nine names of Allah from the Islamic tradition. In many Sufi traditions, the names of Allah are chanted and sung as a form of prayer and to ask that aspect of Allah to come to their aid.

Al-haadi - ٱلْهَادِي - The Guide
An-nur - ٱلْنُّورُ - The Light/Illuminator
Al-Wadood - ٱلْوَدُودُ - The Most Loving
As-salam - ٱلْسَّلَامُ - The Giver of Peace

Poranguí sings the names of God from the following African lineages:

Abassi (supreme god, Anang and Efik peoples of Nigeria)
Bemba (supreme god, Bambara people of Mali)
Aberewa (earth goddess, Ashanti people of Ghana)
Amma (creator goddess, Dogon people of Burkina Faso and Mali)

Vem kan segla (Who can sail)
A 19th century folk song originating from the Swedish speaking Finnish island Åland.

Vem kan segla förutan vind,
vem kan ro utan åror,
vem kan skiljas från vännen sin
utan att fälla tårar?

Vem kan segla förutan vind?

English Translation:
Who can sail without wind,
Who can row without oars,
Who can part from their friend
Without shedding tears?

Who can sail without wind?
